Fixing WordPress themes when the doorbell rings.

Being WordPress developers, we often are asked to repair or fix broken WordPress websites that we haven’t built, and many times these are theme based websites.

When your website goes down, it’s natural for you to want it back online asap, but if you are dealing with firms that outsource most of their work, you can be stuck in a time warp waiting for the emails to go back and forth before anything gets done.

Last week, someone came to us because of issues with 2 previous firms and asked if we could tweak their WordPress website a little bit as they weren’t happy with how it was working. Because their previous attempts to get help had failed they ended up on our doorstep, and within a few hours we had fixed the major issues, and after a few days all their issues were sorted.  We also added in some extra functionality and did a complete backup of their website, plus a quick security check to ensure there were no major issues going forward.

In a different case, we were referred a client whose WordPress website (based on a theme) had been hacked and they were also in a panic to get the website cleaned and back online asap. This was a little tricky as the website was riddled with infected files (virus / trojan), so we took our time to ensure the site was once again fixed and then after doing a basic security audit, we suggested they move to more secure website hosting.

If you have a WordPress website that needs some TLC or has been infected with a virus, why not get Kinski & Bourke to take a look for you.
